Is wordpress a CMS/ECM killer ?

We all have heard of WordPress as an open-source publishing and blogging application. Last month I mentioned to my colleague that my clients were complaining about arcane CMS interfaces and the perception that the feature set was not keeping up with similar open-source platforms.
